Come join Ellen Doty and special guests for the release of her long-awaited sophomore album Come Fall. This new project strips the music down to its bare bones, leaving a raw and incredibly spacious sound. No bass. No background vocals. No horns. No layers. Just piano, voice and drums. A mixture of pop, jazz, soul, folk and indie music, the sound is one that is undoubtedly hers. Doty is originally from Okotoks, Alta., but currently makes her home in Calgary.
For the Come Fall concert, Doty will be joined by her album team from Toronto including producer/drummer Davide Di Renzo (Cassandra Wilson, Tom Cochrane, Molly Johnson), and pianist/producer Mark Lalama (Kevin Breit, Sisters Euclid, Daniel Romano). There will be guest appearances by collaborator/local celebrity Danny Vacon (frontman for The Dudes), and co-writer/folk-roots artist Scott Mackay.

Scott Mackay will be the opener for this performance
With one dark, chilling line you are introduced to the simple, elegant music of PEI born singer/songwriter, Scott MacKay. MacKay’s country-ish songs are standouts, riddled with one-liners that catch the sun like a freshly polished cleaver. Now living in Calgary, he has become an artist to watch, being nominated for Roots/Folk Recording of the Year and Male Artist of the Year at the last Calgary Music Awards. MacKay’s newest offering Twin (produced by Leeroy Stagger) features fiddle, banjo and the haunting harmonies of his twin brother, Ben.
