British cellist Michael Kevin Jones has found a unique place for himself among today’s performers.
Chosen to play for the Royal Family as a student of the Royal College of Music in London, England, Jones was awarded scholarships to study in Koln. Touring the world with established ensembles and as a solo cellist, he has developed a successful, yet unconventional career incorporating multi-musical activities including performing and teaching. As member of The Jones Maruri Cello Guitar Duo, he earned his first ‘Top 10’ selling recording in Hong Kong and China, while his solo recording of the complete Bach suites (on a 1667 Stradivarius cello) for the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York has received international critical acclaim and several audio awards.
