Mount Royal Conservatory Co-Presents Dame Evelyn Glennie and Land's End Ensemble
Co-Presented with Mount Royal Conservatory and back by popular demand!
In 2017, our sold-out 20th anniversary show with percussionist Dame Evelyn Glennie left audiences awestruck and critics raving, calling it “a turning point not only for new music in Calgary, but for all the performing arts.” It was a historic event that left a significant impact on our cultural community. This fall, Ms. Glennie returns for a special concert celebrating Land’s End Ensemble’s 25th anniversary! As the World’s Premier Percussionist, Glennie is thrilled to present these new works by composers she carefully selected for this event—and we are thrilled to be collaborating with her again.
This fall, the program will feature five new works by five critically-acclaimed award-winning composers, all generously supported by multiple organizations and donors including:
Eugene Astapov (CAN) - Tiny Shattered Pieces (amplified violin & percussion)
Generously supported by Ontario Arts Council
Dorothy Chang (CAN/USA) - Fragility (cello & percussion)
